Long Island School Bus Strike Ends

From the beginning, Local 252, along with TWU International leadership, sought a speedy resolution to this dispute so members could continue to serve the community and provide safe transportation to the children in the affected districts. Together, TWU members from across every division stood up and took action against a corporate bully who showed no regard for the working men and women of Long Island. We’re pleased to announce that Baumann and Son’s latest offer includes critical improvements for Local 252 members, such as guaranteed work weeks and charter pay increases, as well as wage increases and other gains. The membership will vote on the agreement tomorrow.Find out more on our website.

Political Victories for TWU

Election Day 2017 saw some key victories for workers up and down the local, state and national ballot. In New York and New Jersey in particular, TWU turned out big, helping elect New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and defeat the Constitutional Convention ballot question in New York. These wins wouldn’t have been possible without the TWU’s massive organizing and mobilization efforts, and our continued commitment to showing up for the fights that matter.

TWU Fights to Stay at the Wheel

Driverless buses have come to Columbus, Ohio, home of Local 208. These buses could have massive impacts on the transportation industry and the traveling public - potentially leading to the loss of 4 million jobs. Ohio has almost 17,000 bus drivers, and tens of thousands of family members rely on these jobs. The TWU will fight tooth and nail to defend our members' livelihoods and our riders' safety.Learn more on Local 208's Facebook page.

Honoring Our Veterans

TWU is proud to count among our members thousands of veterans from every branch of the U.S. military. These men and women exemplify the courage, commitment and leadership skills that define the American spirit, and they bring that resolve with them to work every single day. This month and always, we thank you for your service. Watch our Veterans Day video here.

American Airlines Workers Continue Rallies Around the Country

The Today We Unite campaign for an industry-best contract at American Airlines arrived at the corporate headquarters last month, with hundreds of members from more than a dozen locals showing up to rally with their brothers and sisters in Dallas. The slow pace of negotiations is appalling, and TWU has had enough. We're continuing this fight until our members get the contract they earned. Stay tuned for more ways you can get involved
